Lahore: In a meeting held on Wednesday, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar reviewed the arrangements being made by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to manage any instances of possible flooding which may occur during the upcoming monsoon season, according to news reports. At the meeting, PDMA officials informed the attendees that the river flow was being closely monitored and so are their water levels.

Reportedly, an early flood warning is also in effect. Working with various media platforms, the authority is keeping residents updated on the situation.
Buzdar has instructed all the government departments concerned to be prepared to combat the threat of heavy rains and flooding. He said that the government would not tolerate any lag in the fulfilment of departmental responsibilities geared towards ensuring the safety of citizens. He also instructed the local and provincial departments to work closely with all the relevant relief agencies.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister gave the approval to change the name of the Cabinet Committee on Floods to the Cabinet Committee on Disaster.
