Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Mir Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo on Tuesday (April 26) termed the Balochistan Coastal Development Authority (BCDA) a key institution of Balochistan’s coastal area development, news sources reported. He termed the authority a key development and tourism promotion partner of the province.

CM Bizenjo made these remarks while presiding over the BCDA’s 17th governing body meeting. He stated that the authority is critical for tourism promotion and coastal conservation. He urged the authorities to engage communities and fishermen in the coastline decision-making process. CM Bizenjo also stated that he will visit the coastal areas following Eid to assess the status of existing development initiatives.

Additionally, the said meeting approved the budget grant-in-aid of BCDA for the financial year (FY) 2021-22 and the post-retirement promotion of a retired officer of BCDA. It is also worth noting that on a similar visit to Gwadar, he urged the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) to take all necessary steps to develop the coastal city. He maintained that including locals and fishermen in decision-making is critical to inclusive development. He instructed that provisions be made as soon as possible to address local issues.
