Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has instructed the officials concerned to hire consultants to carry out the feasibility study for the Chakdara-Rabat Expressway, according to a news source. This expressway is being planned in the Lower Dir district and will connect Chakdara to Rabat via Ramla and Ouch villages.

The CM gave this approval while chairing a meeting regarding the project. As per the proposal, this 26km-long expressway will cost PKR 10.5 billion. In its first phase, the developers will build it from Chakdara interchange on Swat Motorway to Rabat. The next phases will involve further extensions on this.

The members of the meeting were presented with three route options for the project and chose the shortest route via the Ramal and Ouch villages. They were also informed that the PC-II for this project had already been drafted and submitted to the relevant authority. Additionally, the financial and commercial feasibility of the project will be complete in three months, they were told.
