Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar On Wednesday (February 16) gave final approval of the Elevated Expressway project in Gulberg-Lahore, news sources reported. The PKR 60 billion project will be inaugurated soon with the work starting in the next few months.

Reportedly, in a meeting of the Cabinet Standing Committee of Finance and Development, the project was given final approval and was included in the annual development project. The 10.5-kilometre long dual corridor project will connect the Gulberg, Multan Road and Canal Road to the M-2 Lahore Islamabad Motorway. The project will start from Gulberg and will end at Babu Sabu Interchange. As per the PC-1 of the project, the corridor is expected to serve 47,000 passengers and commuters each day, reducing overall travel time from 40 to 15 minutes.

In addition, the highway would include five exits and entrances at: Canal Road Jail Road Ferozepur Road Band Road Multan Road In addition, the elevated highway project would have eight dual carriageways, which would help to ease the city’s expanding traffic congestion.
