Gujranwala: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has approved the construction of a children’s hospital in the city, reported a news source.

This 500-bed health facility, which is part of the provincial government’s annual development programme for FY2019-20, would be completed at a cost of PKR 1 billion. For this purpose, the executive has allocated funds worth PKR 30 million in the first phase.
As per reports, the government has directed the officials concerned to prepare the PC-1 for the project on an immediate basis. It has also decided to acquire land for constructing the hospital in collaboration with philanthropists and other notables.

To deal with the problems that may hinder the land acquisition process, the officials concerned will work in close liaison with former MNA Chaudhry Tariq Gujar. Moreover, CM Buzdar has instructed the authorities concerned to start construction work on the hospital in FY2019.
