Peshawar: Chief Minister Jamal Kamal Khan Alyani has directed the small industry department to come up with a plan that will help revive the industry of hand made carpets in the province, according to news sources.

Reportedly, he made the said announcement while chairing a meeting in which development schemes of Industries and Home Department and their Concept Papers for PSDP 2021-22. The meeting was given a complete briefing regarding all the development schemes proposed for the next financial year. The concept paper of the proposed project for the development of infrastructure of Quetta Industrial and Trading Estate was approved during the meeting.
For the revival and growth of carpet industry in Balochistan, proposal for rehabilitation of carpet centres in Sibi , Ziarat and Chaman has also been given. Other plans discussed included formulation of PC-1 for modernization of carpet centres, building CTD complexes in six districts and establishing new police stations. The Chief Minister also directed to choose a land to establish more industries outside of Quetta city since its population is growing rapidly.

Also present at the meeting was Provincial Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove, additional chief secretary for planning and development, additional chief secretary for home, principal secretary to the chief minister, finance secretary, information secretary, additional secretary for industries and MD LIDA among others.
