Islamabad: The climate change Ministry has announced to introduce new projects that will create 200,000 green jobs for the segments including women, youth, and local communities by the year-end, according to news sources.

According to an official, the local community will develop green jobs as part of the Lake Manchar programme in Sindh province. In addition, a similar project will be launched in Dera Ismail (DI) Khan, where green jobs would be created using nature-based solutions.
Furthermore, the climate change ministry spoke with higher-ups about green job concerns. As a result, they set a goal of creating green jobs under the Green Stimulus Initiative. In addition, the ministry has developed a financing model for green jobs, which will be supported through the Ecosystem Restoration Fund. To fund green jobs, the Ecosystem Restoration Fund includes Asian Development Bank, Green Bonds, and the Debt4Nature Swap programme.

According to Malik Amin Aslam, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, green jobs would continue to grow in the coming years.
