Karachi: Sindh Additional Chief Secretary for Local Government Khalid Haider Shah has commended the transformative efforts of the CLICK project in revitalising Karachi’s towns and union councils.

As per details, speaking at a high-level meeting held at the Urban Immovable Property Tax Office, Shah highlighted the project’s round-the-clock dedication to enhancing the city’s infrastructure, supported by the World Bank.
During the meeting, Shah emphasised the need for development projects proposed by the elected leadership to go beyond routine maintenance. He called for initiatives that would significantly elevate the city’s beauty and prestige, aligning with the overarching goals of the CLICK project. The collaborative efforts of these officials underscore the integrated approach to urban development championed by the CLICK project.
Secretary Excise Salim Rajput announced a significant policy shift, stating that the Sindh cabinet had approved the transfer of property tax collection responsibilities to the Sindh Local Government Department. This change will enable all towns to collect property taxes regularly, ensuring a steady stream of revenue for ongoing and future urban development projects.
Project Director Asif Jan Siddiqui detailed the technological advancements being implemented through the CLICK project. He mentioned that towns across Karachi, including the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), will now utilize the advanced SAP system software to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
