Karachi: Sindh Special Assistant to Chief Minister (SACM) Ali Ahmed Jan on Thursday (September 1) inaugurated Pune Panch Park in Orangi Town, news sources reported. The park was inaugurated under the Competitive and Livable City of Karachi (CLICK) project.

According to the SACM, the Karachi administration and the provincial government are working together to make Karachi a beautiful metropolis with parks and recreational amenities. He stated that the municipal government has established a number of parks in various locations of the city to provide inhabitants with leisure opportunities and to restore the city’s beauty. He also announced road infrastructure projects for the Orangi Town area. He stated that before road expansion, the government will focus on modern drainage systems, sewage lines, water line leaking, and the installation of green belts. He stated that the government’s foremost objective is to transform Karachi into a world-class metropolis.

It is important to mention that Karachi has been named among the most environmentally unfriendly cities due to the low number of green areas and haphazard development. The city administration, in recent years, has launched the CLICK project to make the city more people-friendly and thus has launched a number of parks.
