Karachi: In its latest operation to clear encroachment on land marked for Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) track, Pakistan Railways (PR) demolished nearly 100 concrete houses and structures located within 50 feet of the track, reported a news source. In this particular operation, Railways authorities razed illegal structures built on the track located between Gujjar Nullah and Nazimabad.

The operation against encroachers was launched on orders of the Supreme Court. During the crackdown launched yesterday, district administration and police helped Railways with clearing land. PR Property Land Deputy Director Dilawar Hussain said 150 illegal houses surrounding the KCR track Nazimabad have been identified. These will be razed soon.

The surroundings of KCR Track in Nazimabad has 150 concrete structures. The deputy director said 75% operation in the central district has been completed. The remaining land will be cleared in the next three to four days. The drive will continue today as well.
