Quetta: A campaign to collect garbage from door-to-door has formally been started, a news source quoted Quetta Mayor Dr Kalimullah Khan. In this regard, 80 vehicles will be deployed to collect garbage from each household in Zone I. This will discourage the trend of littering on streets and roads.
Talking to the media, Khan said that vehicles will be collecting garbage from each house on Mekangi Road, Patel Road, Balochi Street, and all streets and lanes connected to these roads. The vehicles provided to Quetta Metropolitan Corporation will collect 400 to 500 tons of waste on a daily basis. The cleanliness campaign is to be expanded to all parts of the city and the city district government is seeking public cooperation in this regard.
