Karachi: Member National Assembly (MNA) and Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi on Sunday launched a ‘Clean Karachi’ campaign, a news source reported. Speaking at the launch ceremony, he stated that the authorities concerned wanted to reduce the city’s current waste levels to a bare minimum.

Referring to volunteers who recently registered to become a part of the campaign, Zaidi said that these individuals would be divided into two teams in a bid to launch the cleanliness campaign in all districts of the metropolis.
The minister also extended his thanks to the Pakistan Army for deploying the services of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) forces for the cleanliness drive.
Previously, Zaidi had discussed the scope of the ‘Clean Karachi’ drive, which will take place over a span of two weeks in two phases. He said that the first phase would feature a cleanliness campaign aimed at removing wastes from all the storm drains in the city.
