Peshawar: A mega-campaign to clean several tourist spots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Lake Mahodand and Lake Saiful Malook has kicked off, a news source reported. In this regard, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minster for local government has instructed the concerned departments to ensure cleanliness in areas that receive tourists.

For this purpose, the Town Municipal Authority Naran has placed waste bins at Saiful Malook Lake and Mahodand Lake. In addition to that, a dedicated sanitary camp has also been set up at these sites. The minister has further instructed that anyone littering these places should be dealt with strictly.
The news source also revealed that the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) has teamed up with the concerned departments to keep tourist sites clean. In this regard, a team of several sanitary workers took part in the cleanliness campaign, which KDA Project Director Khwaja Faheem Sajjad monitored.

Under this drive, the respective authorities in Swat, Kama and Palagama Glacier also placed the trash cans on tourists’ sites. Furthermore, the authorities have also installed boards and hoardings requesting travelers to ensure cleanliness in these areas.
