Karachi: A group of students took charge of cleanliness in Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s Mahmud Ghaznavi Park. They picked up garbage from the park and cleaned the entire place, according to a news report.
Mahmud Ghaznavi Park is visited by residents of Gulshan-e-Iqbal on a regular basis, but there is no property system of cleanliness in place to ensure a pleasant ambiance for the visitors. This is why the students of a nearby school took it upon themselves to clean the place, as per the “I am Karachi” Initiative. More than 70 students took part in this, and strongly believe that as citizens loiter the cities, they should be the ones to pick up the garbage as this responsibility helps the environment.
