Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) and Turkish company Albayrak have established contacts with the public through their representative team representatives, a news source reported. The teams will highlight the importance of cleanliness in a number of union councils of the city.
RWMC teams visited Union Council 33 – Angat Pura, while Albayrak teams visited Union Council 13 – New Katariyan. The teams requested the citizens to refrain from throwing any litter. People were asked to put their waste in garbage bags and throw them in designated public containers, or put them outside their homes for the waste companies’ staff to collect.

Complaints regarding local waste and cleanliness issues should be made on RWMC’s helpline number: 1139, so that the goal of making the city ‘clean & green’ can be achieved.
The communication teams are conducting door-to-door visits to highlight the importance of cleanliness.
They will also arrange awareness walks and establish camps at mosques, markets, and schools for the purpose.
The teams distributed awareness literature and waste bags during their public meet-ups.
