Islamabad: The authorities concerned on Wednesday were asked to ensure timely completion of the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project – a news source reported.
Chief Justice Saqib Nisar warned that non-compliance would be deemed as contempt of court. He also ordered the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to submit the cheque to the court.

Justice Nisar asked the contractor to deposit a bank guarantee in order to receive the cheque. The counsel for the contractor previously stated that his client was not being paid for the construction work.
During a previous hearing, the top court had asked LDA to release funds for the project. A three-judge bench warned the contractor to complete the project on time or face penalties.

Justice Nisar, who heads the bench, also barred the accountability watchdog from taking up the OLMT case. NAB has been asked to not get involved in the proceedings – unless specifically requested.
