Hyderabad: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has asked civic bodies concerned to submit their replies in a petition seeking action against illegal constructions in flood zone areas and katcha land, a news source reported. A division bench, comprising Justice Aziz-ur-Rehman and Justice Mohammad Faisal Kamal Alam, of SHC Hyderabad circuit issued these directives.
The Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) and the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) were told they had not filed their comments so far and had to submit relevant record in the court on January 3.
The order was passed on a constitutional petition filed by Jan Mohammad Junejo and Aftab Ahmed Chand through their counsel Advocate Suleman Unnar in a public interest litigation.
Officials of the SBCA, DHA, irrigation, revenue, the defunct Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, private builders, and developers had been referred to as respondents in the petition.
