Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority has invited citizens to share their suggestions regarding Lahore Master Plan 2040, reported a news source. The road map meant for preparing Lahore to meet citizens requirements for the next 20 years calls for the citizens to be involved in the process, said LDA Director General Amna Imran Khan.
In this regard, meetings will be held at different parts of the city to consult with the citizens. Khan shared this information while heading a meeting held to discuss the master plan. The meeting was arranged in collaboration with Punjab Urban Unit at Doongi Ground in Mini Market, Gulberg.
The meeting was also attended by Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Syed Zahid Aziz and Traffic Superintendent Police Muhammad Asif and other important officials representing the concerned departments.
Speaking at the occasion, Khan said that road map for city’s development will be formed in the light of suggestions given by the citizens of Lahore. Previously, 50 LDA teams comprising 150 officers also completed the survey of 6,400 commercial buildings in the city.
Speaking about water management in the city, WASA MD Aziz said that short and long policy is being prepared to control the dropping level of water table in Lahore. For traffic control management, Traffic SP Asif said that Lahore needs a good transportation system and the current road situation in the city suggests that commercialisation isn’t needed.
