Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet on Monday approved the ‘Chota Karobar Imdadi Package’, a news source reported. The committee has sanctioned this relief offering to support Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) caught in the grip of financial setbacks amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

To this effect, Federal Minister for Industries & Production Hammad Azhar stated that the package would directly benefit 3.5 million small businesses after recording their data. He added that the incumbent government was aware of the problems faced by the SMEs during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown, and it wanted to provide maximum benefits to the businessperson during these tough times.
The minister revealed that under the Chota Karobar Imdadi Package, the government would provide a three-month relief in electricity bills to SMEs. He added that the government was also working on other packages in order to announce loans for small-scale businesses.

The lockdown imposed due to the coronavirus has affected businesses and industries across the country. The incumbent government has provided several financial relief measures to mitigate the impact of the lockdown for both businesses and general public.
