Chitral: The Chitral district administration is introducing its first-ever paragliding event in Upper Chitral starting this Friday (October 1), according to news published on Wednesday (September 29).

As per the details shared, paragliders of national reputation will participate in the three-day event. It was disclosed that the paragliders will take off from Zani Pass (4,200 meters) and land in Booni Town, headquarters of the Upper Chitral district.
According to the Upper Chitral Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ali, the local paragliders have practised flying from Terich Aan and Zani passes (above 4,000 meters). He added that so far, no event was organised to exploit the area’s paragliding potential. He also revealed that the ridge dividing Terich and Mulkhow valleys was the perfect place paragliding with landing in Booni town.

Moreover, the deputy commissioner hoped that this event will help attract paragliders from across the globe to the area located at the base of the Hindukush mountain range. Through this event, Commissioner Ali hopes to promote winter tourism that will help in the economic uplift of the region.
