Lahore: Minister for Science & Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has invited Chinese investors to establish solar panel manufacturing plants in the country, a news source reported. He expressed his views on the matter at the inaugural ceremony of the seventh Pak-China Business Forum & Industrial Expo held in Lahore on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Hussain discussed how the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had transformed the relations between the two countries into an enhanced economic cooperation.
Highlighting the vast opportunities for investment in the country’s solar power sector, the minister invited the Chinese investors to set up plants for manufacturing products pertaining to solar power. He expressed his hope that the Chinese investors would utilise the opportunities available and invest in Pakistan’s renewable energy sources.
Meanwhile, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Regional Chairman Abdul Rauf Mukhtar opined that the Pak-China Business Forum would assist in match-making, business-to-business meetings, video conferencing, and enhancing bilateral ties between the two neighbours.

Everest International Expo Chairman Wang Zihai stated that the event’s goal was to explore the untapped markets of both countries in light of latest business and technology trends related to individual industries. He added that they were also hoping to attract foreign investment for promoting global connectivity and creating job opportunities.
