Islamabad: Chinese firms have begun to locate business centres in the different areas of the country, a news source quoted Advisor to Prime Minister (PM) on Commerce, Investment, Industries, & Textile as saying.

The PM aide said that these companies have initiated construction work in Lahore and Faisalabad for exploring business within the textile sector. He added that the government was also formulating a policy for textile, which was in its refining stage.
Dawood said that the officials concerned would hold a meeting with the minister of China in the next week. He added that the meeting would discuss the issue of enhancing business volume. He also revealed that the free trade agreement (FTA) signed with Chine would become effective by the end of December 2019.
It is notable that Pakistan recently jumped 28 positions in World Bank (WB)’s ‘ease of doing business 2019’ report.
The advisor to the PM also highlighted the upgradation work on railways tracks in the country. He stated that this initiative was creating more job opportunities. He added that China has agreed to support the ML-1 project aimed at improving the country’s transportation and cargo service system.

Referring to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Dawood said that the country had overcome the energy crises with the several projects part of the programme. He added that CPEC’s second phase will focus on uplifting the railway tracks and signalling systems.
