Lahore: A delegation representing Meishang International Group Investment Holding Ltd of China met with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday (Oct 11) and expressed their interest in constructing 200,000 low cost housing units under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), a news source reported.

The delegation, which was led by Professor Guo Rongzong, expressed its interest in investing in the province’s housing sector. Punjab Minister for Housing & Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Punjab Board of Information Technology chairman, Punjab chief secretary, and officials representing the Planning and Development Department were among the notable officials that attended this meeting.

Responding to the offer, CM Buzdar said that investors will be provided with all the required facilities to protect and grow their investments. He also highlighted the vast investment opportunities that are waiting to be explored within Punjab.

The CM has instructed the concerned departments to procure investment details from the Chinese company and share their recommendations based on the provided details. He also sought a future road map on the investments offered in NPHP projects. He added that allowing the construction of high-rise buildings in Punjab will boost economic activities.
