Faisalabad: Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing on Sunday revealed that many Chinese companies have expressed their keenness to invest in the Allama Iqbal Industrial City, a news source reported. He shared this information during a meeting with Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) Chairman Mian Kashif Ashfaq in Islamabad.

He said that several Chinese companies planned to set up export industries in the industrial city on a joint venture (JV) basis. He also shared details of the Chinese firms which had expressed willingness invest in the Allama Iqbal Industrial City. Further, he announced that the Tianjin University would help FIEDMC set up a technical university in Faisalabad.

Meanwhile, the ambassador inspected the furniture, textile and other items produced at the Allama Iqbal Industrial Estate. FIEDMC Chairman Ashfaq invited the Chinese envoy to the inaugural ceremony of the Allama Iqbal Industrial City – with the launch event scheduled to take place in December.
