Islamabad: Officials from Pakistan and China have declared three Chinese cities as sister cities of Karachi, Multan, and Gwadar, according to a news source. These cities, namely, are Urumqi, Xi’an, and Puyang (respectively).

The said officials made this decision at a meeting held in Beijing to strengthen the ties of friendship between the two countries. Federal Minister for Interprovincial Coordination Dr Fehmida Mirza headed the Pakistani delegation at the session.

Both sides signed separate agreements regarding the sister cities. During the proceedings, Dr Mirza reiterated that Pakistan holds its relationship and mutual cooperation with China in high esteem.
She added that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an integral part of the One Belt One Road Initiative, and a huge accomplishment geared towards promoting regional connectivity.

The Executive Vice Governor of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Zhang Chunlin, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Masood Khalid, also addressed the forum.
As per reports, this forum will work towards facilitating cooperation between the two countries across all sectors.
