Beijing: Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Masood Khalid on Thursday invited international businessmen to invest in the special economic zones (SEZs) being developed as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a visit Weihei and Jinan cities in Shandong province of China. Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Secretary General Valdimir Norov had organised the visit for SCO the envoys of SCO member countries.
Ambassador Khalid said that the incumbent government wanted to extend cooperation with China in agriculture and food, water purification and treatment, vocational training, and tourism sectors.

He highlighted various initiatives introduced by the incumbent government to facilitate both foreign investors. He said that the second phase of CPEC would commence with the visit of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan to China.
