CM Naqvi requested China to share the Air Purified Towers technology during a meeting with the Chinese Council General to Pakistan Zhao Shiren. He said that the Chinese air purification tower technology will prove beneficial in improving the air quality index in Lahore.
The said discussion is a continuation of the recently concluded negotiations to collaborate with a Chinese company to install an anti-smog tower in and around industrial zones and border areas in Lahore.
During the meeting, CM Naqvi also discussed the current construction initiatives associated with the China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC), stating that the project is critical for both countries’ mutual interests.

It’s important to note that China has some of the tallest anti-smog towers in the world installed in its cities, which have been successful in lowering PM 2.5 levels by 15% during peak seasons. Following a similar pattern, the Punjab government started negotiations with China over technology transfer that will first be tested in Lahore and later be installed in other cities as well.
