Lahore: After the formal approval of Purple Line Train project by the Central Development Working Party and completion of necessary documentation, the proposal has been sent to China, according to a news source. For this project, loan worth $ 2 billion will be taken from China.
Purple Line train has become a priority project for the Government of Punjab. The line will run between Allama Iqbal International Airport and Bhatti Chowk near Data Darbar. The preparation for project’s inauguration are in full swing.
According to details, track of Purple Line Train will be 16.7 kilometre long, out of which 11.4 kilometre track will be elevated while 4.6 kilometre will be under the ground. Purple Line will have 14 stations. The line will connect the airport with Bhatti Chowk while passing through Guldasht Colony, Joray Pul, Saddar Gol Chakar, Dharampura, Canal Road, Mayo Garden, and Garhi Shahu.
