Quetta: The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing on Friday announced that the Chinese government is going to establish 19 factories in Gwadar, a news source reported. He added that the government was dedicated to provide the youth of Balochistan with increasing employment opportunities for the future.

The ambassador added that China wanted to contribute to the overall development of Balochistan. In this regard, they are expected to focus on agriculture, fisheries, mining, and the water sector. The Chinese consulate is also working on making the process of attaining a visa to their country easier for the local business community. While these sectors still have a lot of room for development and improvement, any efforts in this regard are expected to lead to poverty alleviation throughout the province.

As per the sources, companies from China have been working on improving the irrigation sector of Pakistan. In addition, vocational training centres are being set up to develop the skills of common citizens, especially those belonging to the province’s significant youth population. The Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan highway will also be expanded under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to further facilitate the people living in this region.
As a final point, Ambassador Jing praised CPEC and shared his view that CPEC projects had the potential to not only change the economic conditions of Pakistan, but to also help the neighbouring Central Asian states, including Afghanistan.
