Beijing: China has dispatched 300,000 litres of pesticides along with 50 sets of pest control equipment in a bid to help Pakistan tackle its locust swarms spread, a news source reported.

The Chinese Agriculture Ministry recently stated that Beijing had provided large-area operation pesticides to destroy the second wave of locusts altogether. The pesticide and equipment landed in Pakistan on April 25. China, in March, had provided 50,000 litres of pesticides and 14 high-tech sprayers.
Meanwhile, the Chinese Agriculture Ministry has prepare an emergency plan for the purpose in collaboration with the Pakistani Foreign Ministry. Similarly, the China International Development Cooperation Agency has prepared an emergency plan for disaster prevention and control.

Moreover, Chinese experts recently conducted field surveys in Pakistani areas infested with locusts which helped them determine the best measures needed to control the locust outbreak.
