Islamabad: The Fatima Group signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Machinery Engineering Cooperation (CMEC) and Tianye Group, at the Pak-China Agricultural Cooperation Forum, according to news sources. The MoU entails bilateral cooperation between the companies to introduce modern agricultural technologies and production processes to Pakistan.

The Tianye Group specialises in highly efficient irrigation technologies, including water saving drip irrigation systems, while CMEC is one of the top engineering and construction companies in China.
The MoU is expected to help transfer modern agricultural technologies to Pakistan. This will allow local farmers to use the latest irrigation systems, and improve their overall yield productivity as a result. These technologies will also help conserve water and allow it to be used more efficiently, for the purpose of irrigation.

The forum was a high-profile event that was attended by the President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi and the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing. It was conducted to promote bilateral cooperation between the countries, specifically in the agricultural field of agriculture. This will ultimately allow Pakistan to improve its agricultural infrastructure. The government of Pakistan has launched several initiatives for this purpose over the past two years.
