Lahore: China has established a special unit at the Punjab University for enhancing social sector cooperation with Pakistan, a news source reported.

Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan Yao Jing expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with Punjab Minister for Commerce, Industry, and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal on Thursday.
The secretary industry and trade, chief executive officer of the Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT), and other concerned officials were also present at the occasion.
The two sides discussed measures necessary for increasing cooperation and promoting investment in agriculture, industries, vocational education, livestock, and tourism sectors.
The Chinese envoy informed the meeting that his government has planned more future investments in the province. He expressed the hope that Punjab would emerge as a hub of economic activities in the country.

He stressed on the need for pursuing combined efforts for completing development initiatives under the multi-billion economic corridor (CPEC) project.
