Lahore: A delegation of housing experts and investors from China and Dubai met with the Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed and briefed him on the construction of low-cost houses development under Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), according to news sources. They also apprised him of their previous projects for to provide a frame of reference.
Minister Rasheed confirmed that experiences of foreign housing firms will be utilised beyond bringing innovation in the construction of low-cost housing units under NPHP.

In conversation with the delegation, he said that any feasible suggestions and proposals regarding the construction of these housing units will be given appropriate consideration. Rasheed also declared that foreign investors’ interest in the venture reflects their trust in the latest economic policies of Pakistan, and is therefore a good sign.
The delegation comprised executives from the private office of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Dalmook Al Maktoum, China Construction Design International and China Railway Construction Corporation. The Director General (DG) of Punjab Housing And Town Planning Agency (PHATA) Liaqat Chattha, Secretary Housing Naseem Sadiq,and General Secretary Housing Taskforce Atif Ayub were among the meeting attendees.

DG PHATA briefed the delegation regarding the administrative and legal policies of NPHP. The delegation agreed to present their proposals after visiting PHATA-controlled land in Lahore and Faisalabad.
