Beijing: The Chinese government has announced its decision to dispatch a team of health experts in a bid to assist Pakistan in its efforts to contain the novel coronavirus spread, a news source reported.

To this effect, China’s National Health Commission (NHC) Vice Minister Zeng Yixin on Thursday said that China was cooperating with the international community, including Pakistan to counter the novel coronavirus.

Zeng said that China had already shared the information regarding the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and control plan against the COVID-19 pandemic with Pakistan after the coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan.

China International Development Corporation Agency (CIDCA) Vice-Chairman Deng Boqing said that China had supplied four batches of medical supplies to Pakistan; including protective medical gowns, surgical face masks, N-95 masks, breathing equipment, and detection reagents.

Moreover, Beijing recently provided USD 4 million for the construction of an isolation hospital in Islamabad, which will be completed by 10 May. Previously, Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation donated relief materials and equipment to combat coronavirus pandemic. The two foundations are expected to send more equipment within the coming few days.
