Beijing: The China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) has initiated development work in the Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ) – situated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), a news source reported. According to CRBC, the industries being set up in Rashakai SEZ include automobile, farm produce, textiles, home appliances, construction materials, consumer electronics and logistics.
The enterprises based in this SEZ will be entitled to preferential policies in compliance with the Special Economic Zones Act 2016.

The Rashakai SEZ is expected to become the sole industrial park in the province to be entitled to favaourable policies and conditions enacted by the federal government. Rashakai SEZ also happens to be one of the nine SEZs that are given preference under under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project framework.
Rashakai SEZ aims to become a trade and transfer hub and a prototype of industrial cooperation between China, Central Asia and Western Asia. The total planned area in Rashakai spans four square kilometres, and will be developed in three phases and will also have access to adequate water, power and gas supply.

The Rashakai SEZ will also be equipped with supplementary facilities such as complex administration building, exhibition center, apartment, commercial area and hotels. Additional services including business registration, license issuance, work permits, custom clearance and declaration, inspection and quarantine, issuance of certificate of origin and building permits will be available in the zone as well.
