Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Mr Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the Azadi Chowk Overpass on Sunday, July 13, 2014.
According to a news source, the project was completed at a cost of Rs 5.35 billion in a record period of 165 days. Reportedly, the length of the overpass is 2.53 km and it is expected to see traffic of 200,000 vehicles a day.
The chief minister told reporters at the inauguration that after this project, national monuments such as the Lahore Fort, Minar-e-Pakistan, and Badshahi Mosque would be protected from pollution.
