Karachi: Cherat Cement Company Limited has launched its new cement line with the production capacity of 6,700 tons per day, according to a news report. The company is one of the largest cement manufacturers in the country.
Cherat has successfully installed and commissioned cement line III. The line has a capacity of producing more than 6,700 tons of clinker per day. It also has a Waste Heat Recovery plant.
The company’s total production has now increased to more than 4.5 million tons per annum.
The company’s new plant, with 1.3-million-ton capacity per annum, was set up with the investment of PKR 13 billion.
Cherat Cement posted a profit of PKR 596 million for the second quarter ended December 31, 2018. This was a decrease of 20%, compared to PKR 744 million in same period last year. It was in line with market expectations. Last year, the former government had undertaken many development projects.
