Sialkot: Work on the 1,100 metre long bridge located over Chenab River is fast approaching completion, according to a news report. A work update was been given by Gujranwala Commissioner Captain (retd.) Muhammad Asif on 15th April 2018 while visiting the site at Shehbazpur with other senior officials of the irrigation department.
Among the senior representatives were Sialkot Deputy Commissioner Dr. Farrukh Naveed, Gujrat Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and various other dignitaries. Asif said that the Punjab government have spent PKR 5 billion up until now and would like to connect the districts of Sialkot and Gujrat. It is expected that this new bridge would reduce the distance between Sambrial-Sialkot and Jalalpur Jattan-Gujrat by about 50%. The bridge and a main carpeted road are expected to be opened for traffic in May.
