Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza has requested the citizens to check the status of the housing societies at the RDA’s Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate or on the official RDA website before investment, according to news published on December 4.

The chairman mentioned that the authority regularly conducts raids against illegal housing schemes and is taking strict action against the violators. He advised the citizens not to invest in unlicensed and unapproved housing schemes in the city. The citizens can check the status online by visiting the RDA website https://www.rda.gop.pk or at the RDA’s MP&TE Directorate.

The RDA has enforced the regulations against violators such as stores, plazas, schools, residential and commercial construction and other illegal land use encroachments. Sharing details about the encroachment operation, the RDA spokesperson (whose name was not disclosed) mentioned that the authority has sealed 31 commercial buildings demolished three offices of illegal private housing societies, and lodged nine FIRs in the previous month. He went on to say that the grand operation against the unauthorised construction is underway in full swing.
