Peshawar: Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) on Public Health Engineering Riaz Khan on Thursday (June 18) laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Char-Elum Road in Buner, a news source reported. The road will be developed at an estimated cost of PKR 160 million.

Speaking at the ceremony, Khan said that the construction of the Char-Elum Road would promote tourism in Buner. He further said that the KP government was laying a network of roads in the province in order to reduce travel distances between far flung areas.
Khan further directed the officials concerned to direct their complete focus on the development of the said project, so as to ensure its timely completion. He also directed the local leaders to monitor the project’s progress for the purpose of making certain that the quality of the construction work wasn’t compromised. Khan warned that unnecessary delays in construction would not be tolerated.

Additionally, the special assistant expressed his hope that, while the global economy was facing the adverse effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, Pakistan would manage to deal with this economic crisis effectively under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He further stated that the country could get rid of the coronavirus pandemic much sooner, if only people followed the SOPs formulated to suppress the virus’ transmission.
