Rawalpindi: The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank of China (AIIB) has proposed that noise and environmental pollution that will be created during the construction of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) should be controlled, reported a news source. A-two member team representing the Chinese bank paid a five day visit to learn more about the project and have a look at the project’s feasibility report.
The team visited the project’s site, attending the question-and-answer session held after it and also had a meeting with the officials representing the Rawalpindi Development Authority and National Engineering Services Pakistan.
The AIIB has already approved the project and agreed to provide PKR 47 billion as a loan for the project. And not to mention, the bank previously made it mandatory that a NOC from NHA and several other authority be procured before land acquisition process can begin. It has already been decided that the funds for land acquisition will be arranged by the Government of Punjab.
