Rawalpindi: Federal Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Rashid Shafique and Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Haji Pervaiz recently inaugurated a gas pipeline project running through their respective Rawalpindi District National Assembly constituencies (numbered 60 and 62), a news source reported.

Under the said project, the authorities concerned will lay down a 1.4-kilometre-long gas pipeline spanning across Rehmatabad, Dhoke Manshi, Chaklala, and Jabbi. The uplift scheme will include another 2.4-km-long pipeline for A and D blocks of Satellite Town. Adjoining localities of Shah Khalid Colony, Al-Noor Colony, Rabaainaabad, and Raheemabad will also benefit from the project.
As per reports, the departments concerned have released the funds required for the project; for which the expected completion date is January 31, 2020.

During the inauguration ceremony, Shafique stated that the two constituencies and their adjoining areas had a combine population of more than a 100,000 residents. He added that the project’s successful completion would ensure uninterrupted supply of piped gas at full pressure to these areas.
