Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) held a meeting on Wednesday (August 25) to review the progress of ongoing development projects, according to media reports.

RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza and Director General Nadeem Ahmad Abro presided over the meeting. The session was attended by the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate, the State Management Directorate, the Administration and Finance Directorate, and the Land Development Directorate.
On the occasion, the RDA chairman ordered the directorates to facilitate the general public by creating awareness about illegal housing schemes and the building and zoning regulations 2020. Moreover, he directed all the authority’s employees to work honestly in order to solve the problems of the city’s residents.
The MP&TE directorate was directed to continue the operation against unauthorized and illegal commercial activities and constructions. Additionally, Director Estate Management Saima Younus briefed the meeting on RDA’s vacant Land, verification and clearance of commercial and residential buildings, transfer cases in RDA’s properties, and RIT Schemes.
In addition, RDA Chief Engineer Amir Rasheed discussed the ongoing and completed projects. He talked about the completion of the dualization work of the Dr Qadeer Khan Road project that is being developed from Islamabad Highway to Falcon Complex Rawalpindi. The meeting was also updated on the ongoing construction of three pedestrian bridges on Airport Road.

Chairman Murtaza took the opportunity to praise the timely completion of the Dr Qadeer Khan Road and also highlighted the importance of quality and speedy work.
