Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed on Wednesday (December 22) directed authorities to open the Rawal Dam Chowk’s Flyover and 7th Avenue bridge within the next two months, news sources reported.

As per the news, the chairman, who was accompanied by members of the National Logistics Cells (NLC) and CDA officials, instructed the contractors to speed up construction on the project so that the flyover and 7th Avenue bridge could open in February and early January, respectively. He stated that the projects are critical for traffic load management in one of the city’s busiest areas. Amir Ali also paid a visit to the IJ Principal (IJP) Road and enquired about the project’s specifics and completion date. He directed that the PKR 4.9 billion project will be completed by the June 2022 deadline to enhance traffic flow between Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The Rawal Dam interchange and 7th Avenue interchange projects, which were initiated in July 2021, are intended to manage traffic from Rawalpindi and the surrounding regions travelling to Islamabad.
