Karachi: Federal Minister for Water Resources Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah stated that the federal government wants to complete the Greater Karachi Bulk Water Supply Scheme – K-IV – project in the shortest possible time, according to news published on October 6.

The minister visited the project site of the K-IV project and stated that it is a vital civic project that will help address the acute water shortage in the city. Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Sajjad Ghani accompanied the federal minister on this visit. Federal Minister Shah lauded the measures taken by the management of the project and assured full support to WAPDA for completing the project on time.

Moreover, the minister was briefed about the K-IV project. It was informed that the said project is being executed through eight different contracts. The first phase of the K-IV project is scheduled to be completed by March 2024. The project director stated that the release of funds is crucial for the completion of the initiative.
