Peshawar: The federal government has pledged to provide funds for developing infrastructure in the erstwhile FATA, according to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan.

He expressed his views on the matter during a press briefing. He said that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan had assured the provincial government of the centre’s support.
The federal government will provide resources for developing both short and long-term infrastructure projects in the former FATA region.

Earlier, CM Mahmood Khan held an individual meeting with the prime minister. The two sides discussed provincial matters in wake of the FATA merger.
PM Imran Khan was also briefed on development plans with respect to education, health, tourism, agriculture, and water resources in the province.

In response, he directed the chief minister to personally monitor progress on the construction of the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.
