Karachi: The federal government is ready to provide buses required for the Green Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) network – a news source reported.
Governor Imran Ismail said this during his visit to a construction site at Numaish underpass. He was briefed on the progress made on the project so far.
Ismail said the project would facilitate local commuters who had to face long traffic jams. He added that the project was heading towards completion at a rapid pace.
The governor hoped that the project would facilitate social and economic activities within the metropolis. He said that the federal government was committed to promoting uplift projects without discrimination.

Widely considered as Pakistan’s financial hub, Karachi has often been at the receiving end of environmental damage due to increased & unplanned urbanisation shifts. The BRT project aims to cut planet-warming emissions, and reduce air pollution & street noise.
