Islamabad: The federal government has released funds worth PKR 8 billion to facilitate the completion of ongoing development projects in Karachi, a news source reported. As per officials, the Sindh Infrastructure Development Company (SIDC) will provide its approval to the allocation framework decided for these schemes.

As per reports, the funds would be used for the completion of various projects – including the construction of a signal-free corridor from Matric Board Office to Sakhi Hassan and the rehabilitation of Nishtar Road and Manghopir Road.
Some of the funds will be utilised to make the Green Line Project functional till Numaish Chowrangi, while have been reserved for the construction of the Institute of Technical and Management Science in Hyderabad.

In March, the federal government had announced a special package worth PKR 163 billion for Karachi. The special package was to be used for completing seven sewerage system projects and 10 public transport projects in the city.
