Islamabad: The federal and provincial governments have announced their decision to seal off the city locations which have reported continual surges in coronavirus cases, according to news sources.

To this effect, the authorities concerned have already shut off Chak Shahzad, Bhara Kahu, and Ramsha Colony in Islamabad, some parts of Sadiqabad, part of Dhoke Kashmirian and Satellite Town-B Block in Rawalpindi, Manga Village in Charsadda, and Mohrah Akkrah; following reports of COVID-19 outbreak.
Vehicles, except those carrying freight, have been banned on the highways. The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits are being prepared by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to be given to the healthcare professionals treating COVID-19 pandemic situation.

Furthermore, the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) has achieved the ability to produce 10,000 litres of hand sanitizers and 25,000 face masks daily.
While addressing a press briefing, NDMA Chairman Lt Gen Mohammad Afzal said that order for one million testing kits for coronavirus infection has also been placed.
