Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz on Tuesday announced that the federal cabinet had asked the provinces to shift their focus towards the development of neglected areas and the formation of Provincial Finance Commissions for the purpose – a news source reported.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar is expected to supervise the commissions in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
The information minister further stated that the government was working on developing a system to streamline the appointment process for the heads of government institutions. The cabinet meeting also discussed the issue of deforestation in Gilgit Baltistan — with the people in the area being provided with solar stoves to tackle this problem.

Additionally, Minister Faraz revealed that the government was working on improving the country’s health infrastructure and that work was being done to develop new hospitals with collaboration from the private sector.
